NAIDOC Week: Here's Why It Matters

NAIDOC Week is held in the first week of July every year. It's Australia's national celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples — their history, culture, and achievements. This year marks the 50th anniversary, under the theme 50 Years of Deadly. Deadly is an Aboriginal English word meaning excellent, impressive, outstanding. Thousands of Australian workplaces, schools, hospitals, and government teams show up during NAIDOC Week to support the movement.
