Celebration Through Generations

NAIDOC Week 2026

This artwork is a tribute to our Old People who built this movement and paved the way for where we stand today. Their strength, resilience, and leadership over generations have made it possible for us to gather, celebrate, and stand proud as First Nations people, 50 years on. The central gathering circle represents celebration, a living practice that remains strong within us. It reflects NAIDOC as a celebration of coming together, storytelling, pride, and cultural connection that has been carried through generations and continues to live on in our communities. The top gathering circle represents our old People, honouring the work that has been done and the knowledge they have passed down, the guidance, sacrifice, and vision continue to shape our paths and keep our culture strong. The bottom gathering circle represents our young people, our future leaders, and the next generation growing up strong in culture and identity. The footprints throughout the artwork symbolise our journey over the past 50 years of NAIDOC, a journey marked by resilience, celebration, and strength. It reminds us that we honour what came before by continuing the work carrying forward the responsibility to protect culture, community, and country. This artwork reflects the past, present, and future walking together, celebrating how far we have come and the generations still to come.
